ITINERARY
Day 1:
Reception at the airport or bus station and transfer to Monte Amazónico Lodge office for relevant information about the tour.
Transfer to the port where we will take the boat for an hour to our lodge. Welcome meeting with a refreshing fruit juice from our region. Installation in our respective rooms.
After a short rest, you will have a two-hour introductory walk in the dense tropical forest, guided by an expert local guide who will take you through our trails to see a variety of trees that can be more than five hundred years old, at the same time. You will be able to observe some species of wild animals such as toucans, oropendolas, parrots, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc. You will have the opportunity to experience the magic of our Amazon Rainforest inside the Tambopata National Reserve (278,000 hectares protected under Peruvian law).
After lunch, we will visit the «Monkey Island», located in front of our lodge across the Madre de Dios River, in this place there are different species of monkeys, such as the brown capuchin, the squirrel monkey, the marmoset monkey and the white capuchin. all of them on the island after the activity we will return to the lodge.
At night we will look for caimans, they are usually on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, this time you will need to bring a flashlight. With luck we can see the capybara the largest rodent in the world that can weigh up to 60 kilos impressive family of the Peruvian guinea pig; return to the lodge, dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2:
After an early breakfast we will take a short boat ride to the entrance of Sandoval Lake, after checking in at the check point we will walk 3 kilometers (2 miles approx.) to Sandoval Lake (piranha habitat) one of the largest in the Tambopata National. Reserve, after the pleasant walk, the guide will board a rowboat where we will have our navigation on the lake to appreciate different species of birds and monkeys (Hoatzin Jacanas cormorant, puma heron, eagles, howler monkey, squirrel monkey, black capuchin, marmosets and sloths). Perhaps we will meet the family of giant river otters (almost two meters long) that are in danger of extinction and the largest caiman recorded over 4 meters long, return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch. In the afternoon we will take a night walk where we can appreciate the diversity of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal animals. – Dinner and rest.
Day 3:
5:30 a.m.
Morning in the jungle. The canopy Walk-Way, will allow us to see the rainforest from a different perspective, about 30 meters high, the bridges will allow us to appreciate nature from a great height, we will have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River. From platforms you will be able to observe different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, oropendolas and much more, this will be a wonderful experience. After breakfast we get ready for an activity full of adrenaline over the trees at more than 30 meters high. For this activity we will have an instructor guide, who will give a talk on how to use the safety harness during the zip line activity, feeling the thrill of sliding through the trees, the experience will be with you forever, there are two cables that support more than 3 tones, return to the Lodge – Lunch and rest.
In the afternoon the challenge is to cross the Madre de Dios River by kayak, on the way we can appreciate the fascinating sunset. Then we will be able to do some artisanal fishing in the Madre de Dios River, with a little patience we will see some species of fish such as catfish.
Day 4:
Early in the morning we will take the boat to visit the parrot clay lick, a wall of earth (mud) on one side of the Madre de Dios River, where different species go down to the wall to eat this special and essential clay that is needed for metabolism, there we can observe more than five species of parrots, such as the blue-headed parrot, the dark-headed parakeet, the mealy parrot and the elusive blue-headed macaw, also other macaws like the chestnut-fronted macaw can be observed. Return to the lodge and have a late breakfast. After lunch we visit a family of indigenous people who make us participate in their daily activities, learning their customs and traditions that have been maintained over time. Dinner and rest.
Day 5:
Breakfast and return to the city, transfer to the airport and/or bus station.

The prices indicated are per person in US dollars. The entrance fee contributes directly to the maintenance of the Tambopata National Reserve by the Peruvian Government.

To confirm the reservation a payment of U$D 50.00 (Fifty dollars) is required in advance and the balance can be paid before the start of the activity. Payment is subject to our cancellation and refund policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations made 31 days or more prior to departure date will be refunded less a 25% administrative fee and cancellations within 30 days prior to departure date will be billed at the full rate. These cancellations will be considered a no show.
No-shows
In the event that you have confirmed your reservation and do not show up at the confirmed transfer location your deposit will not be refunded.
No refunds will be applied in the event of cancellations of air, road, lake, river or trail travel due to changes in airline schedules, bad weather conditions, civil or government strikes, acts of God or government, acts of terrorism, force majeure, criminal activity, or illness. More information
