Macaw Clay Lick Tambopata 5 days / 4 nights

ITINERARY

Day 1:

Arrival at the airport or bus station and transfer to the office of Monte Amazonico Lodge and your Tour Operator Carlos Expeditions for our final tour briefing before departing on our adventure. In case you have a lot of luggage, we suggest you repack to keep the items you don’t need and take enough for the trip.

Land transfer (4X4) by wheeled van to our destination for about 2 hours to get to the banks of the Tambopata River, if it is by river it will take more than 6 hours (information only). In this place we will take a boat to the lodge «Monte Amazonico – Tambopata». Welcome and breakfast or lunch depending on the time of arrival.

In the afternoon we will take an introductory walk to the rainforest where we will have the opportunity to see animals in their natural habitat such as amphibians, mammals, reptiles and wonderful insects, among others.

Day 2:

We wake up very early, at 4:30 am, to embark on an incredible boat trip to the largest macaw clay lick in the world «EL CHUNCHO», a trip of approximately 1:30 hours by boat, on the way we will have the opportunity to see some species such as capybaras, which is the largest rodent in the world, tapirs, and you can even see the most beautiful South American feline, the jaguar, many of our clients are witnesses with photographic evidence of encounters with these beautiful mammals.

After arrival at the macaw clay lick, you will see hundreds of parrots of different species (11) come to eat clay adjacent to the river on the wall. We will settle into our chairs to wait to begin one of the most beautiful natural bird shows in the world. The parrots are followed by 3 species of the most colorful macaws in America, red and green, blue and yellow come to gather to eat the clay needed in their daily diet and eliminate toxins. On a good day of activity you will see hundreds of these wonderful animals flying overhead. An experience of a lifetime

Return to our lodge, breakfast and rest time.

-Then we will walk through the botanical garden where you can observe some fruit, timber and medicinal species of our area, accompanied by our guide. Lunch

In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to kayak on the Tambopata River where we will move silently along the river, so we will have more opportunity to observe the largest animals of the Tambopata Reserve.

For the night free to rest or possibility of another night walk.

Day 3:

After a hearty breakfast, our boat takes us to transport us back to Puerto Maldonado and we will transfer to the port where we will take the boat for an hour until we arrive at our welcome lodge with a refreshing fruit juice from our region. Accommodation is provided. After a rest, you will have a two-hour walk in the dense tropical forest, guided by an expert who will take you through our trails and you will see a variety of trees that can be over five hundred years old, so you can observe some species of wild animals such as toucans, oropendolas, parrots, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc. You will have the opportunity to experience the magic of our Amazon rainforest inside the TAMBOPATA NATIONAL WILDLIFE RESERVE (278,000 hectares protected). After lunch, we visit the «Monkey Island», located in front of our lodge on the other side of the Madre de Dios River, where we find different species of monkeys that live on the island, those species are the brown capuchin, the squirrel monkey and the saddleback tamarin; and return to the Lodge. In the afternoon we will go to look for caimans, the white caimans are typically found on the sandbanks in the Madre de Dios River for which it will be necessary to bring a flashlight. Also, we may see some capybaras, back to the lodge, dinner and rest.

Day 4:

After breakfast hike of 3 km. In the middle of the dense rainforest and head to Sandoval Lake (piranha habitat) one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve and ride in a rowboat where we will appreciate many birds of different species (shansho, cormorants, jacanas, puma heron, vultures, howler monkey, brown capuchin monkey, tamarins and sloths). We may meet the endangered family of giant river otters (almost two meters long) and return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch. In the afternoon we will have one more opportunity to walk where we will be able to appreciate a diversity of species of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal animals. – Dinner and rest.

Day 5:

5:30 a.m. in the morning jungle and a short walk to our canopy walkway, about 30 meters high, allowing us to appreciate nature from as high as possible, we will also have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River. From the platforms observe different species of birds, including toucans, macaws, tanagers, oropendolas, it is sure to be a wonderful experience.

Breakfast and return to the city, transfer to the airport and/or bus station.

The prices indicated are per person in US dollars. The entrance fee contributes directly to the maintenance of the Tambopata National Reserve by the Peruvian Government.

To confirm the reservation a payment of U$D 50.00 (Fifty dollars) is required in advance and the balance can be paid before the start of the activity. Payment is subject to our cancellation and refund policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations made 31 days or more prior to departure date will be refunded less a 25% administrative fee and cancellations within 30 days prior to departure date will be billed at the full rate. These cancellations will be considered a no show.

No-shows

In the event that you have confirmed your reservation and do not show up at the confirmed transfer location your deposit will not be refunded.

Lo más destacado de Perú Mi familia y yo (edades 8 , 11 , 14 , 18 , 38 , y 41 ) todos lo pasamos increíble! Aparte de la selva tropical real siendo increíble, el personal era muy amable y conocedor, la comida era súper genial, y las actividades eran un montón de diversión! Aunque el itinerario estaba lleno, había mucho tiempo para descansar en el lodge, que era relajante, limpio y cómodo. Esta experiencia fue lo más destacado de nuestro viaje! ¡Grita a nuestro guía Fernando que hizo un trabajo INCREÍBLE!

Tour decente El tour en sí fue decente. De manera similar a la descripción, se toma un barco de 45 minutos a la isla, luego se camina durante aproximadamente 1 hora, luego se navega en canoa dentro del lago Sandoval durante unas horas con un descanso para el almuerzo allí, luego se camina de regreso y se regresa en barco a Puerto Maldonaldo. Vimos árboles, pájaros y monos. La compañía lo recoge en el hotel / aeropuerto, pero usted está por su cuenta volver al hotel. Dieron un pollo con arroz envuelto en una hoja de árbol para el almuerzo, pero sin bebidas. Estuve enfermo (gripe) durante el viaje, así que no lo comí hasta que regresé al hotel y la parte de la canoa me mareó y tuve que acostarme la última mitad. Eso apesta, pero no el problema de la gira. La única parte rara fue que el guía nunca me miró. No esperaba que lo hiciera, pero se sentía raro que no lo hiciera.

Superbe découverte Superbe découverte avec notre guide qui savait vraiment de quoi il parlait. Explications très interessantes. Gran experiencia en Amazon, recomendaría como introducción perfecta a la selva! Mi novia y yo pasamos 4 noches aquí y fue una experiencia increíble. He estado en la selva antes, pero la primera vez para mi novia y es una muy buena introducción a una experiencia en la selva. Lodges super limpios y cómodos. Las actividades están muy bien planificadas y los guías son muy conocedores. La comida, que está incluida, es increíble. Incluso hay una piscina que es ideal para el tiempo de inactividad. Todo el personal que trabaja allí es muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar a que su experiencia sea lo mejor posible. Realmente disfrutamos de todos los paseos y barcos / kayak y pesca. Tuvimos suerte y pudimos ver mucha vida silvestre. Sin duda recomendaría. Gran saludo a Rodrigo y John, gracias.

Unvergessliches Dschungel-Abenteuer mit tollem Guide! Unsere Dschungeltour war ein absolutes Highlight unserer Reise! Die Organisation war gut, die Aktivitäten spannend, und die Natur einfach atemberaubend. Besonders unser Guide Fernando hat das Erlebnis perfekt gemacht – er war unglaublich engagiert, wusste auf jede Frage eine Antwort und hat uns mit seiner Begeisterung für den Regenwald angesteckt.Die Unterkünfte waren einfach, aber völlig ausreichend für das Dschungelerlebnis. Das Essen war lecker, hätte aber etwas abwechslungsreicher sein können. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Die Zip-Line war zwar spaßig, entsprach aber nicht den europäischen Sicherheitsstandards – hier wäre eine Modernisierung wünschenswert.Insgesamt aber eine großartige Tour, die wir jedem empfehlen können, der den Amazonas hautnah erleben möchte. Vielen Dank an Fernando und das gesamte Team!

Jungla peruana Muy buena experiencia sumergida en la selva profunda la pasamos muy bien y los chicos son de confiar muy recomendado , eso sí lleven repelente porque hay todo tipos de insectos

Jungle De jungletour op zich was leuk en onze gids wist veel dieren te vinden en erover te vertellen. De Lodge was ook goed, groot genoeg voor mij alleen. Douche had niet vee water en geen krachtige straal. Grote klamboe aanwezig. Verzoek voor mijn vegetarische dieet was van te voren aangegeven en toch kon de kok niks behoorlijk klaarmaken. Het was bij elke maaltijd weer een verrassing of ik nog iets te eten zou krijgen. Iedereen had de maaltijd al bijna op en na vele malen vragen of er nog wat voor mij was klaargemaakt kwam niet echt aan in de keuken. Ik heb dit als heel vervelend ervaren. Ik heb er slecht gegeten. Tijdens de vrije uren na een activiteit kon je niet echt van de natuur genieten omdat beide dagen de hele middag er gras werd gemaaid met een vreselijke herriemakende grasmaaier. De derde dag ben je alleen maar aan het wachten op de boot van 15.30 uur terug en moet je om. 09.00 uur uitgecheckt zijn. Achteraf gezien zou ik niet daar blijven hangen en proberen de ochtendboot terug te nemen indien mogelijk en de stad in te gaan. Genoeg te beleven daar en vele eetgelegenheden. Ik heb een voldoende gegeven omdat de omgeving heel mooi is en je er vele vogels, otters, krokodillen en insecten kunt zien. Ik zou bij aankomst 06.00 uur met de bus opgehaald worden bij de Bus Terminal van Tambopata. Ik werd pas om 19.30 uur opgehaald, dat vond ik geen fijne start zolang wachten op een station die uitgestorven is op dat uur en waar alleen taxichauffeurs zijn die steeds proberen jou een taxi aan te bieden.

Bonne expérience Très bonne expérience et deux fois moins chère que la randonnée proposée par notre hôtel.Groupe peu nombreux.Samuel était sympathiqueNous avons vu plusieurs espèces de singe, une tarentule, des loutres des oiseaux et des papillonsPrévoir beaucoup d’eau il fait très chaud et humide Nous n’avons pas osé toucher au repas du midi (transporté dans des feuilles de bananier et conservé à température ambiante, attention à la turista….)

Toplocatie aan rivier en jungle Geweldige locatie en heerlijk eten, gave excursies! De huisjes waren top, prima bed en lekker relaxed. Prima zwembad en heerlijke zonsondergangen.
