The departure is at 3:00 in the morning, we pick you up at your lodging and we take you in our mobility by the interoceanic highway for a journey of 2 hours approximately (48 km. Asphalted and 18 through the jungle) until you reach the Tambopata River where our boat with outboard motor awaits you and will take you for an hour and a half to the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve, to reach the largest macaw clay lick in the world, the CHUNCHO clay lick, where hundreds of parrots and macaws gather to eat clay as a supplement to their daily diet and they do it at the side of the Tambopata River.

On the way to the lick, you will have an incredible opportunity to see mammals such as capybaras or ronsocos, also tapirs, deer and often the largest South American feline, the jaguar, our clients witness beautiful encounters with this endangered feline. Then we have our camping breakfast.

When we arrive at the observation area of parrots and macaws we will settle in our chairs and wait for this natural bird show, once the activity is finished we will return by boat to the lodge HACIENDA TAMBOPATA, where you will be served a delicious lunch, short rest and a walk in the beautiful jungle, return to the lodge and then transferred to the place from where you will return to the city of Puerto Maldonado.
